Energy storage is widely used for your daily life, from smartphones, AR/VR devices, EVs to power grids. What could we do for energy storage?

1. Recycling

The recycling for the chemical batteries may cause pollutions. Some start-up companies are working on different directions and recycling different chemicals. How to make it more efficient and less pollution will be really valuable. Recycling for solar panels should be taken care of as well.

2. Green hydrogen

There are different ways to get hydrogen. Getting hydrogen from renewable/clean energy.

3. Magnetic solutions
Flywheel and SMES(Superconducting Magnetic Energy Storage) are two typical solutions. There should be more solutions there.

4. Super capacitor

Super capacitor is a good solution for short-term energy storage. We may need to figure out how to improve the energy density.

5. Thermal Energy Storage

Concentrating photovoltaic (CPV) works pretty well with thermal energy storage. Abandoned mines are used for energy storage as well.

6. Hydropower

Places with mountains and water can conduct hydropower easily. While, how we use it and how to not influence the natural environment will be critical.

There are plenty of potential solutions for energy storage. Let’s be open-minded and try to get more opportunities to save energy and save our planet.
